چکیده
Abstract Fibre Reinforced Concrete (FRC) is internationally recognised as a structural material in the fib Model Code 2010 and at national level recently published ABNT standard NBR 16935, which establishes design procedure based on post-cracking parameters. This publication should foster an increase number of applications FRC Brazil next years. In this context, many researchers have investigated use DEWS test for characterisation alternative to three-point bending (3PBT) usually recommended by standards. The conducted applying compressive load specimens with triangular grooves that induce pure mode‑I tensile fracture. Despite advantages test, such smaller specimen simpler testing obtain anisotropic/orthotropic properties, it still requires transducers measure crack opening generate specimen, more complex, labour demanding. study addresses these issues proposing simplified method preparation consisting removing (correlating machine stroke opening) generating groves during casting instead sawing afterwards. These modifications made much easier perform. experimental program assesses setup their influence FRC. Additionally, effective fibre content orientation were assessed performing inductive test. results show can be successfully using configuration presents some comparison 3PBT quality control, especially lower volume control displacement.

Punching shear strength of steel fibre reinforced concrete slabs
The ultimate strength of reinforced concrete slabs is frequently governed by the punching shear capacity, which may be increased with addition of traditional fitments such as reinforcing steel, headed studs or shear heads. In addition to these traditional methods of strengthening against punching, steel fibre reinforcement has proved to be an effective and viable alternative. The addition of fi...

The experimental study deals with Hybrid fibre reinforced concrete with the use of (Polypropylene and Recycled polyethylene terephthalate RPET). The M40 grade concrete used was designed by using IS10262-2009 code. The steel fibre and synthetic fibre were added at the volume fractions up to 0.5%. Test results showed that the fibres, when used in a hybrid form, could result in superior composite ...

Research reported in this paper was carried to study the water permeability of steel fibre reinforced concrete (SFRC) with varied aspect ratios of steel fibres. Corrugated steel fibres were used in the investigation at constant fibre content of 0.5%. Relationship of water permeability with compressive strength and split tensile strengths has been presented. The water permeability was observed t...
